LB Design Recruitment are working with an award winning multi-disciplinary architectural practice who deliver large scale residential development projects nationwide. Clients include National and regional House Builders / Developers and SME’s.
They are looking to recruit a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join their newly established and rapidly growing regional office in Guildford.
The role will involve working on a mix of residential projects from volume to one off bespoke developments. You will be expected to assist with various aspects including design planning & technical work and with the preparation of Vision Documents / Design and Access Statements.
You must have the below skills and experience:
- Minimum of an Undergraduate Degree in Architecture obtained in the UK.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience working in a UK architecture practice / developer.
- At least 2 years’ experience of using AutoCAD.
- Proficient with Photoshop.
- Proficient with InDesign.
- Be interested in large scale UK residential development (50 – 500 Plots) for SME’s and National Housebuilders, with focus on Design and submission of Planning Applications.
- Have an understanding of large-scale residential design.
- Have a solid understanding of the UK Planning system.
- A full UK Driving Licence or Motorbike Licence.
- The right to work in the UK permanently.
It would also be good if you had the following:
- An interest in Urban Design.
- Experience of UK working with UK Developers.
- Experience of Sketch-Up or Lumion.
- Experience of other Adobe Suite Programs.

The role is based in Guildford but you would be expected to travel to meetings / site visits and the like. Guildford main line station is 15 mis walk. Guildford (London Road) train station is 5 mins walk.
This position is primarily office based, although upon successful completion of a probationary period, one day a week working from home will be considered.
